“I just thought you might go pay a visit," his mother suggested.
“Me?” Q asked, aghast. “Pay a visit?”
“He must be starved for proper gentleman company, now that he’s settled in so far from London--”
“I am far from proper gentleman company.”
“--and perhaps if you befriended him he could introduce you to some nice heiresses.”
“Heiresses?” Q repeated, baffled and horrified. “What in the world would I do with heiresses?”

This began as a playful one-off tumblr fic, but it grew a little. Captain Novak, retired home from the Navy, meets the elder Mr Winchester at a rather dull ball - and then meets him again when Mr Winchester's stepsister (Miss Harvelle) and ward (Miss Bradbury) decide to 'borrow' Captain Novak's coach for the afternoon.

Summary
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a partner.
Less universally acknowledged is that a single man in possession of very little in the way of fortune may be in want of a partner as well, but John Watson had little time or energy to devote to his own wants or needs...Enter one Mr Holmes...
Please note that I gleefully take great liberties with the laws governing same sex relationships and how they are seen in the Regency Era. As in, it is not an issue at all in this story. At all.

Summary
Sir Harold Watson requires his younger brother John to marry for money. The wealthy husband-to-be? None other than Sherlock Holmes. Before the wedding can occur, Sherlock gets swept up in an investigation of random found body parts and strange letters addressed to him via Bow Street.
As John tags along on the investigation, getting to know his new husband, he finds himself in a London full of mad natural philosophers, rejected suitors, one overbearing brother-in-law, and more terrifying experiments than he could ever imagine.
Definite slash, though a slow build. Taking Sherlock back in time instead of forward.

Yet it had only been one day, more than an hour in a room with Saitou, Sagara and Enishi, and just one exchange with Misao, and he was already damnably unhinged.

Cassandra is thrust into a world not her own, filled with deception, conceit, and betrayal, and despite her desperate attempts of remain true to the one she considers her true love, she finds that not everyone is as they seem on the surface.
"The sudden realization did not come from herself. She was far to sheltered and naive to have discovered his intentions, for to her they were so outlandish, criminal even, that she could not bring herself to think it up on her in if she imagined the worst. It was the small twinkle of his eye, the slight twitch of his mouth, and the way his eyes lowered, against his own will, to her creamy throat and the swell of her breasts. She felt her stomach tighten and her skin flush red, and as he looked her over he could see the red splotches erupt over her skin."
