    Summary

It is a curious thing that what is poisonous to some is sustenance to others.

Behind The Foreigner’s walls, the rarest cultivation of his garden walks the paths and tends the plants.

Jade is not Giovanni. Karkat is not Beatrice. Sollux Captor, possibly a hypochondriac and definitely a Medician, is certainly not going to let the most entertaining of his cases, that is, patients, expire. This is not a tragedy.

(You do not need to know "Rappaccini's Daughter" to read this, it is a fusion and not a crossover, but I listed it because I lifted the basic plot directly from it. Only this is much happier!)

    Summary

Watson hopes to distract Holmes during a lull between cases. (Set sometime after A Study in Scarlet and before The Sign of the Four).

Excerpt: Over the top of my newspaper, I watched Holmes rise from his seat. He walked to the window and peered out, his pipe clenched between his teeth. It was the third time he had made the journey to the window in a quarter hour. I waited for his announcement of a visitor. I listened for the sound of carriage wheels, the knock upon the downstairs door. The street remained quiet, the door-knocker still, even the lowering clouds I could see above the buildings over the road held in their rain.
