None of them heard a goddamn thing, except for Leo. 'Course he did. Apparently being blind had given him echolocation or magic powers or something.
Set in a future in which the Foot took over the East Coast for over a decade. The three surviving turtles have finally killed Shredder, but remain bitter, jaded, scarred, and more than a little distrusting of humanity. Lots of hurt/comfort/psychology. Involves a baby.

the foot clan is really like a monarchy. should the shredder ever die, his crown would be passed to his apprentice or next of kin. should they die, the crown would go to the head of combat training. the list goes on, but an awful disaster can put someone frightened and unprepared on the throne with no other choice but to accept the burden of the shredder's helm.

The majority of the resistance is still weak, still being trained by Leonardo and April, so it is Casey and Mikey who are running blind through the storm, rain beating against their faces, drumming on Mikey's plastron and weighing down Casey's clothes. It is violent and loud, it rips away the sound of their shouts, the howling wind carrying the sound away as the rain drowns it. They are drowned turtle and man, screaming the same name over and over.
