There's three things pretty much everyone's sure of. One, there's a General Election coming up. Two, it's going to come down to two people. Three, those two people-David Cameron and Ed Miliband- will never, ever, stop arguing. Ever. It's impossible. And it's certainly impossible that the two of them could ever, possibly, willingly spend time together. It's impossible that you could start to enjoy spending time with the one person who disagrees with you on everything. It's impossible that you could find yourself confiding in your political rival. It's absolutely, completely, unutterably impossible that you could find yourselves maybe, possibly, navigating something together that might be more than just friendship.
    Impossible. Of course.
Then again, impossibility isn't what it used to be.

Epic Camerband fic, set from autumn 2014 onwards to some point in the near future. Overlaps with General Election and real-life events. A story of politics, awkward friendship, something more than awkward friendship and too much arguing.
    (No, really. Too much arguing.)

"Well" he says, and because Jeremy has a habit, as the Labour party knows, sometimes to its' cost, of just saying what he thinks and not caring who on earth hears it, when he says "You're in love with him" the same way he might say "You like Rice Krispies or "You have two sons", for a moment, Ed doesn't even feel shocked."

To hammer home the irony, it's Jeremy, of all people, who tells him. Camerband.

    Summary

"She finds that it seems to be when Samantha isn't there, she often feels as though she's waiting, and it's only when Samantha arrives, perfume tickling her neck, smile smaller and sweeter than anyone would guess, that Justine feels like she's not waiting anymore.
She'll drink it in and she'll taste the ghost of the lemonade in her mouth, sticky-sweet and longing and something that's almost but not quite regret."

As their husbands disappear into each other, Justine and Samantha find it's easier to let themselves appear to each other in their own space, with the sunshine warm on their heads and memories bittersweet in their mouths. Inspired partly by "Lemonade" by Nicole Dollanganger.

The angry voice of Margaret caused Denis to get out of the bathroom.
''I'm wasting my time with you Carol. I'm going to hang up. Goodbye.''
The loud noise of the handset being hung up is followed by the familiar sound of his wife's heels climbing the stairs. Denis walked towards the corridor and waited her, his shoulder resting against the door frame.
''It was Carol'' She informed him. ''She wanted us to come on Friday for lunch.''

    Summary

"David wonders quite how he might one day have to explain to his grandchildren why he is spending the Christmas Eve of 2015, crouched in his car in Dartmouth Park, with George Osborne and Nick Clegg acting as the world's most reluctant carol singers, while he tries to scribble a Christmas-lighted whiteboard message to Ed Miliband, but he supposes it's one of those situations where you just have to be there."

David has a Christmas card problem. Nick and George are exasperated. Miliband is endearingly irritating. Boris and Jacob are maddeningly eloquent. And everyone else is convinced David has some ulterior motive for wanting to send a Christmas message to the former Leader of the Opposition. Camerband.
