    "Carl..." he begins, the soft sound of his mouth opening and closing, tongue poking out to wet his lips, repeating over and over. He's obviously thinking about whatever statement it is he's about to make carefully, measuring it and shaping it, carving away the excess so that the definite form of his words will fit the nebulous outline of his thoughts.

    Carl wishes he would just get on with it.

    And then he takes a deep breath, and does.

    "Carl? Will you fuck me?"
