"There wasn’t really much that Pete could tell anyone about his life. He never really understood why people bored others with details about where they grew up or where they went to school. He figured that if anyone really wanted to know that his first job was at a gas station or that the first love of his life was a sweet little dude named Mikey Way, then they could ask, but it wasn’t guaranteed that he would tell anyone. He liked to keep things like that to himself, because at the end of the day, he liked knowing that the only person who really knew Pete Wentz was Pete Wentz. And he had no desire to change that."

Firefly AU. After the scandal of the Miranda broadcast, the Verse is in political turmoil--the opportune moment for those who want to make a change. Brendon Urie is a Companion, heading for Sihnon to meet up with other members of the Guild so that he can use his political influence to bring about positive change in the Parliament and the Verse. However, Brendon needs to get off Newhall and make his way back to the core planets, first. The ship he finds harbours a bit of an eccentric crew, and both Captain Smith and his best friend onboard seem a little jumpy, especially around Alliance cruisers. Brendon figures he can work with that.
Spoilers for Firefly and Serenity, though no previous knowledge of either necessary. -

The roads stretches and stretches and stretches, going on for far longer than it has any right to and the bus follows it blindly. Patrick has him pinned down with looks full of sadness and bottomless guilt, forcing him to eat and drink things that taste less and less like what he thinks they should. All he knows now is the chalky grit of ground pills, burning as he swallows. It feels a lot like he imagines self-flagellation might.

Summerlin Centre of Modern Dance, or SCMD, teaches some of the best young dancers in the state. It has also been Ryan's second home for about as long as he remembers. While his own home and family crumbles, and he finds himself unable to do anything but watch, Ryan puts all of his focus on dancing, the upcoming championships, and maybe on the owner's really pretty son, Brendon. Even though he doesn't really talk to anyone.
