Season 2 had so damn much potential, and so little of it was realized. Megatron should have had so much more fun with naive, memory-wiped OP.
And the encounter with Starscream was wasted as well. Yes, it made Orion doubt, but -- so much more could have happened. What would it have been like for Starscream to encounter both mindwiped Orion and Megatron?

Summary
As Autobots and Decepticons realize they fight the same threat, both forces join together to vanquish Shockwave and his new army sent to destroy them. As the fight for Cybertron rages on, Earth becomes the world to stage the war. While both sides struggle for dominance, Megatron and Optimus find themselves growing closer, their differences pushed aside for the time being. Both factions soon mesh together, the echo of the ancient saying within their minds. 'Till all are one.

Summary
The war has ended, leaving Megatron as a prisoner and Optimus as the new leader of Cybertron. Unwilling to execute Megatron for hate of killing yet another mech, Optimus devises a plan to hopefully change Megatron for the better. But there are always flaws with even the best of plans, so the Prime must take the good with the bad as he tries to show Megatron that even he can feel happiness.
