Summary
Arden bar Miran, youngest of the House of Stewards, has spent his life running from his father’s memory.
Valory bar Adrianth, second son of the king, has spent his life traveling Oceana and the Eastern World in his father’s name.
But now Oceana is a nation at war. Shadows are spreading from the south. Foul creatures are appearing, some of which were thought to exist only in myth. A nameless evil is pressing upon the borders, its source unknown.
Oceana is a nation at war: but they do not know their enemy by name.
Valory intends to find the source of this evil. Arden strives to find his place. They did not plan on finding one another. Together they take to the high seas of the Armathian Ocean where they struggle with duty, honor, desire, and the mystery of the spreading shadow.

It’s been years since Alice could remember her last name, her parents, the life she had before she and her sister were taken in the dead of night. House Lucanus is what she knows now; there she is simply Alice, a human Dayrunner who sees to her masters’ mundane chores and errands during daylight hours. When her only friend disappears under suspicion of colluding with a rival house, Alice receives an offer from her benefactor: prove her innocence and loyalty by helping them locate the man they suspect of aiding the traitor. In return she would be elevated to a position that would protect her and, most importantly, one vassal of her choosing.
Her mission is not without its dangers. With the aid of an ambassador from the Faerie court, Alice must infiltrate the rival House and a host of unfamiliar vampires to retrieve a sample of blood or hair to direct a tracking spell. this is something a wrote a month or two back. it was simply my trying to see if i could write prose beyond a single paragraph, and i would like opinions on it, if there are any to be had :)
it is a story about isolation, and about a kind of person that, if they still exist in this modern world, must be very, very rare indeed.
i might make more of it, if the mood ever takes me.
any grammar issues are intentional, i have written this as if it were spoken in a more archaic style of my own local english :)
