I never cared much for Omegaverse. Then I met this prompt on the kink meme and we had filthy sex in a public bathroom. This fic is my walk of shame.
I'm still ambivalent about alpha/omega dynamics, but, to be fair, so are John and Sherlock. My idiosyncratic take on alphas and omegas should probably be handled with latex gloves and not stored near actual biology, due to the danger of splatter.

It's a really quiet palce. Nothing ever happens to him. Until one day there's a murder in the village.Alpha!Sherlock is there to investigate. He smells wonderfully strong and confident. This, and the stress caused by the murder triggers John into a sudden heat. (why don't the pills work?) Again, conflict between nature and belief.
Nature wins and they bond. In the church. On the altar.
After the heat John helps Sherlock to solve the puzzle (and to find out why the pills stopped working).

Several months after setting his brother loose on the trail of Moriarty's network, Mycroft Holmes receives a tip about John Watson, who has made himself scarce after the Fall. What he finds has the potential to render Sherlock's mission a no-win scenario.
Sherlock left something behind before he fell from St. Bart's. It's the one last thing John has left to really live for and the odds are not in his favor.
