Summary
Jim Kirk and Leonard McCoy are on top of the world at the academy until it all comes crashing down around them. Trapped in their own mystery of politics, sabotage, and possible murder, it quickly becomes impossible to know who to trust. Worse, Jim might still be a target. With a dangerous criminal on the loose and Academy leadership not doing enough, Jim and Bones have to get their lives back together and find out what happened... before it happens again.

A time travelling, action-adventure, romance-filled science fiction romp ensues when Ianto runs into Jack in the fifty-first century after an accident with a vortex manipulator. Laser blasters, alien dance clubs, mercenaries, a little too much public sex for Ianto's tastes, sneaky plans and circular logic can be found here. Set after Something Borrowed, but not particularly "AU" - it slots into season 2.

After an unfortunate bar fight, Hermione Granger accidentally invites Draco Malfoy to live on her couch indefinitely, but at least she's got his wand. She's struggling to hang onto her sanity and pleasant disposition, despite those nasty thoughts that keep popping into her head, but he's already given up on his. Meanwhile, the rest of the wizarding world is investigating his mysterious disappearance, he's inventing his own whole new reality from the comfort of Hermione's bed (not that she wants him there), the gravity's broken in the kitchen, Harry and Ginny won't stop trying to get her back together with Ron, Ron's sleeping with Lavender, Hermione wants to lay him out, Astoria Greengrass is mourning her not-so-dead fiancé, and everyone's so buried in lies that they might as well just forget about the whole concept of truth.

Hermione and Draco are crazypants. "We have to kill it, before it kills us." Huuuurgh, so crazy. And funny. And kind of heart wrenching, in a good way. Memory is flawed indeed.

Summary
Written in 2003, after "X2" was released: In the past, a young Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr struggle to discover their powers -- and in the near future (the then unimaginably distant year of 2006), humanity is waging war on Magneto's Brotherhood and losing. The ensuing battle scatters the X-Men across the globe, but brings Rogue closer to Logan than she ever dreamed possible.

Attempting to find a cure for a critically ill Luke, Han travels to a backwater planet in the armpit of the galaxy, piloting an aging freighter discarded by the Alliance because it was unsafe to fly. With time running out for Luke, Han figures things couldn't get much worse.

Notes
I found this one through the Women Being Awesome tag, and it lives up to the tag. Post-show Utena, written amazingly true to the television series. The absolutely note-perfect random short clip scenes alone are worth the read. If I could have one fic redone as a story arc in an anime, I think I might choose this.

Summary
The story begins at the elegant party being held in New York City for Excelsior Prep, whose illustrious alumni include Bruce Wayne, Lex Luthor, and Harry Osborn. But something goes terribly wrong and six of the world's most intriguing men disappear into thin air.
When the story begins, Clark/Lex have an established long-term relationship, Dick and Bruce are struggling with their feelings, Harry and Peter are best friends (timeline post-Spiderman 1).
This is a Work in Progress. This is not abandoned, but real life intervened. I'm working on it again (2011).

I wondered what would happen if Elliot's marriage really did ever break up because of his feelings for Olivia. Then it kind of grew. As his marriage disintegrates, his relationship with Olivia gets more intense. A long story focusing on two cases, and the detectives picking their way through feelings they can no longer ignore. Along with the added complication of a temporary partner for Olivia, who happens to be attractive.
