Summary
Lucius brokers a deal to get his family away from the war, allowing Tonks to infiltrate the Manor. Living as Narcissa leaves Tonks floundering to hang on to her own identity, while a grieving Lucius flounders, too. Their folie a deux threatens their own sanity and Tonks' growing relationship with Severus, as well. AU from the Battle of Astronomy Tower.
Author's Note: There were things I'd left implicit in the original version that should have been teased out, hence this second look. This version (6000 longer) devotes more attention to the psychological aspects, the roots of the Severus/Tonks relationship, the immersion of Lucius and Tonks in their cover, and the tension between the two relationships.
