Summary
The battle of New York was a turning point for the entire planet – but especially so for Bruce Banner. This is a unique chance for him to find the Hulk a place in this world. It is a staggering hope, but unrealistic as it sounds, it might just come true.
And then his hesitant plan turns out to be too successful. Everyone including the Avengers apparently expect the Hulk to take his turn in the spotlight. But the more Hulk thrives, the more Bruce withers, and nobody seems to notice or care. When Loki extends a hand to him, he is fully aware it is a trick – but he has got nothing else to hold onto.
The Avengers realize just a bit too late how royally they screwed up. The sharp-sighted, ever-watching Hawkeye cannot blame himself enough for not having seen this disaster coming. Can they still be saved from Banner ?
Do they even deserve it ?
(The story is set right after the 2012 Avengers movie with slight EMH dynamics thrown in the middle. Updates every two days !)

Summary
Short summary: This is a story where everyone starts by pushing each other way, and ends up by living happily ever after. It's a story where Loki has to work for his happy ending, because you shouldn't be able to go around calling people "puny mortals" and trying to kill them and such, and then immediately get welcomed back and loved by the Avengers. And Tony has to work for his too, because being rich, talented and charismatic shouldn't automatically get you everything you want.
It's also a story with a major Hulk-rampage in it. But that's not for a while.

In doing so Loki and Thor begin anew as friends, teammates and brothers but when Loki's previous temporary allies learn he has used and betrayed them they seek vengeance in the form of Loki's bloodied corpse or the Earth will be destroyed.

I make no apologies. Sometimes a story grabs you and you have to write it, even if you are appalled at the darkness of your own mind for even thinking of such a thing.
Odin has chosen a punishment for Loki. He is to be used, as though he were a woman. By coming to his friends The Avengers, Thor hopes to mitigate the severity of the punishment a little. He does ...maybe... but only because the other alternative would have been to have the Destroyer do it.
Please do not read if you are uncomfortable with the thought of heroes having a darker side to their nature. Please don't get mad because I wrote The Avengers giving in to theirs. I did it, and I am not sorry. But then as Norman Bates once said, we all go a little crazy sometimes, don't we?

Summary
So the punishment for what he did has been dealt. But not in a way Loki ever expected. Or anyone else for that matter.
Loki finds himself in quite a frustrating situation, no longer able to do whatever he wants. And what he ends up doing is quite the opposite of what he wants. On top of it all, a certain Tony Stark is getting dragged into it all.
The person who knows the least about it all seems to be making most of the decisions. And it's Odin's fault, not Loki's!
Loosely based on and set after the first Avengers movie, though with a fair amount of freedom.
