London is a city with two faces. There is Above and there is Below. And Below is the city of people who have fallen through the cracks, the lost, the forgotten and the broken.
John Watson returns to London from the war, broken and lost until fate leads him to a man who calls himself the consulting detective and the mercenaries who are hunting him. As the result of a single act of kindness John finds himself pulled in the strange, and wonderful, world of Below as the consulting detective attempts to get to safety and solve the string of violent deaths plaguing Below before he is next.

I've been reading a lot of really good new stories lately, but this might be my favorite of all of them. I love AMAA's work sooo much and this totally shows why. There are too many beautifully written lines in this story to pick one out, but wait till you get to the letter-- *BAwwwww!!* So sweet and amazing. It's a crossover but you don't need to know Neverwhere to like it. Though you should totally listen to the BBC radio drama of Neverwhere if you get a chance, it's very entertaining and features not only Benedict C but also an excellently entertaining Anthony Stewart Head and many more wonderful stars...
Anyway HIGHLY RECOMMEND this story, A++, all the feels

Summary
Some stories have many beginnings and many endings, and it can difficult to tell one from the other.
What can be said is that in the middle of this particular story, Door learns that finding her sister is not the same thing as getting her back, Richard struggles to come to terms with his new calling, and the Marquis may have forgotten something very important.
