This holds true, up until his ship's landing thrusters give out and he finds himself dealing with the cannabis farming humans of Shepard's Stand. Meanwhile, Vega gets to ride a dinosaur. Summary
This AU fic takes place while Erik & Charles are training the young recruits at the mansion. They are on their way to a date at the theatres when they bump into Kurt Marko, Charles' stepfather whom he has not met in more than 10 years. Charles asks to leave the theatre immediately, and Erik takes him home. During the night, Charles has nightmares, and decides to share details about his past with Erik.
Since I began writing, the fic has expanded into an AU/alternate canon/alternate ending/fix-it hybrid, with plenty of angst, hurt/comfort, and emotions on the way.
