Summary
It's the year 2023, and human civilization has fallen. Monsters called "the Infected" now roam through the crumbling remains of cities and towns. The last five surviving humans are holed up in an old mobile home in the middle of the desert. One of these survivors is Gavin Free, who has spent the last few years building what could be humanity's last chance for survival - a time machine, which will allow Gavin to travel back in time and stop the Infected from ever coming about.
The time machine works, but not in the way Gavin hoped. Instead of taking Gavin back through time, it brings forward a young man from 2013 named Michael Jones. This unlikely pair are now forced to work together to repair the machine and send Michael back to his own time...because the Infected are coming. And they're running out of time.
