Jim Kirk supposed it was as good a moment as any to reconsider his attention to ion storms and dimensional physics in particular when he found himself facing down his First Officer, +1 sudden and inexplicable Van Dyke beard, and one of the most terrifying criminals Star Fleet had ever had the misfortune to tangle with.
