Summary
The marriage of Jeannie Elizabeth Miller and David James Sheppard was quite possibly, at least among Canadians with a television and Americans with ties to Wall Street, the biggest event since the invention of the wheel.
But this isn't a story about them; not really.
No, this is a story about their brothers—John Sheppard and Rodney McKay—and the one event that drew them into each other's orbits, unwillingly or not.

"I know," John agreed, without sympathy. Rodney could hate it all he liked; he couldn't afford to know the truth. I lied. It doesn't matter who walks through that gate with you. No one else owes you what I do. No one else is going to protect you the way I would.

Summary
Frank shot at the range every week throughout elementary and middle school. In high school, he joined the junior ROTC program for their pistol team. He read all the books and internet articles he could get his hands on about Roswell, Area 51, the Disclosure Project, astronomy, space travel, and polemology. His copy of Exopolitics: Politics, Government, and Law in the Universe was so beat-up it looked like it had been flushed down the toilet and dried out with a hairdryer. Everyone who knew him, including his relatives, thought he was insane.
Then, when he was seventeen, the first ship barreled into the Pacific Ocean.
