Summary
Without either of them knowing, both Henry and Mike make a fresh start in Vancouver, unaware that their paths will cross again when a dangerous supernatural creature begins to stalk the city. As each of them deals with the fallout from Vicki's brush with Astaroth, they quickly discover that their former rivalry over Vicki had clouded their stronger feelings of love for each other. Eventually, both must pay a high price if they are to send Astaroth's demon back to hell and save Mike's soul.

When Henry Fitzroy wakes up it's with the sense that everything is wrong. For one there's a heartbeat in his bedroom and he remembers going to bed alone last night and then there's the patch of sunlight streaming into his bedroom and the fact that he's a vampire and he's not on fire. He's so blown away by being awake and alive in the day time that it takes him a minute to remember the heartbeat.
And then he realizes it's coming from him.
And then he panics.
