Summary
Tritter's case against House still depends on subpoenaed testimony from Wilson. To save House from losing everything, the doctors of PPTH decide on an unusual solution, which in turn leads to unexpected consequences. This is a story about the sacrifices we make that turn out not to be such great sacrifices after all. (Contains spoilers for everything up to and including "Merry Little Christmas.")

it seemed that Aelfric had some sort of mischievous urge to tease Uther about Arthur--and he did so frequently.
"I must say, Uther," he said loudly, towards the end of the feast, his blank-faced manservant filling his goblet for the--twelfth?--time, "I'm impressed with your boy. We have heard stories of his prowess and skill on the field, and his bravery. You must be very proud."
"I am," Uther said, glancing at Arthur, who tipped his head in polite acknowledgement of the praise. "He's a proven warrior, indeed. He has vanquished many of Camelot's enemies."
"Vanquished too many, mayhap." Aelfric laughed, and drank deeply. "A man such as he is--famous Prince Arthur, even far from Camelot they know his name--many a king would fear such a son." He belched. "It does you credit that you do not."
I have a few small quibbles, but by and large, I believe the hell out of this story, and this Arthur makes my heart go splodey with love.

Summary
Arthur and Merlin go on a quest to save villagers who have been turned into a beast, but aren't quite prepared for all the things that this "quest" entails -- namely: mermaids, forest spirits, and gods. And, really, it is a day that ends in "y," isn't it, so Arthur really ought to have started to expect that what Merlin considers an easy solution just, well, should be taken with a grain of salt (or the whole damn shaker).

Sweet and hot and funny, and while I am less than fully convinced by the plot, I 100% buy the Merlin/Arthur relationship.
