Summary
The suggestion of sandwiches had occurred to Lord Peter in a flash of inspiration, as he considered the awkwardness of a formal supper. He had met Harriet so often on neutral ground—in the best restaurants in London, they had conversed pleasantly but dispassionately, his own voice ringing hollow with forced jocundity. But here, in his house, they could hardly sit across from one another at a table covered by a spotless white tablecloth, where all passion came to expire under the crushing yoke of polite conversation.

Summary
The auction room was crowded with the royalty of the book world, but no-one present claimed any knowledge of Mr. D. Bredon. His sale had appeared out of nowhere, a lightning strike to the bibliophilic heart of London. Most attendees there were eager to buy, all were ready to gossip, and a few were there because they found the timing nothing short of suspicious.

Summary
Written as a birthday present for Nineveh_uk and inspired by her doing dreadful things to Peter and Harriet on their honeymoon. This starts at the point at which they arrive at the hospital with Bunter feeling not quite his usual infallible self.
There is very little Peter and lots of Harriet. I could have put Harriet-Peter-Bunter under Relationships but it would have given rather the wrong impression. There is also police incompetence, wilful disregard of the speed limit and handwavey chemistry.

Summary
"Mentone, 1932. An English schoolgirl stands upon the threshold of womanhood. Her beloved father is dead, her mother cold and distant. Amidst the tinsel glamour and loose morals of the Riviera resorts, who can heal her wounded soul and teach her to love again?
Starring Douglas Fairbanks as David Harland and introducing Hilary Thorpe as Sarah Wytham, The Healing Fountain is the motion picture event of 1937."
Hilary Thorpe always said she wanted to be a writer. Reading her first novel, Lord Peter Wimsey finds that some of the characters are surprisingly familiar, particularly the hero, a dark and handsome valet.
