Summary
Arthur Pendragon, heir to Camelot Enterprise - the biggest superpower on the earth, knew that the world was facing an energy crisis. Something needed to be done. But the last thing he expected was the 'Albion Project', a new plan to excavate in the druid's sacred homeland. As Camelot Enterprise discovers outstanding deposits of oil within the Crystal Cave, home to the Ealdor clan, morals and the essence of humanity itself are put to the test. One thing Arthur was completely certain of: falling in love with a druid was definitely not part of the agenda.

He searched for them in every face, trying to find Arthur’s courage and leadership in the cocky young colonel, Gwaine's exuberance and good spirits in the happy-go-lucky captain, Elyan’s loyalty and Percival’s strength in the two lieutenants in his squadron, Lancelot’s nobility in the major’s selflessness with the children they met in their missions, and Leon’s wisdom and good counsel in the taciturn lieutenant-colonel’s (the same rank as Merlin himself) occasional comments. But the truth was, none of the men in Merlin squadron could ever compare to the friends he had lost, and every time they failed to measure up was like a blow to Merlin’s gut

Merlin found herself quite in a predicament one afternoon while Arthur had been out on patrol and left her to her own devices. Really, the spell shouldn’t have been that difficult to conjure, but she had been distracted and of course, whenever she was distracted, bad things happened.

A fill for this prompt at kinkme_merlin: Merlin goes through a lot of trauma and has gotten very used to hiding it, moving on (or at least appearing to), and coping silently and without anyone noticing, because most of the time no one can know something happened. One day something traumatic happens to him, which everyone knows about, and everyone is waiting for Merlin to snap, only for him to...not. Arthur is caught between worried and suspicious, and sets about to get to the bottom of this.
