Summary
HOW could a simple writing contest turn out so badly for the rowdy Gryffs who target a seemingly shy, defenseless Ravenclaw? 1954 MASH-UP of most major and minor characters of HP and other fandoms, as well as historical characters. Set in 1954.
7th Year Gryffindors learn why it is never a good idea to piss off Ravenclaw Hadrian Morgan. His payback during Professor Slytherin's class is BEAUTIFUL. In carrying it out, orphaned pureblood Hadrian catches the interest and libido of the present Lord Marvolo Slytherin, who -- with the assistance of the entire Slytherin student body as well as a few other surprising characters -- tries to lure Morgan into his life and his bed. But just how naive is Hadrian Morgan, really?
This is the story that began the AU on FFN, winning devoted readers who take joy in wicked humor, intense slash romance, and surprises at every turn. If you don't think you'll like this, at least read Chapter One; odds that you'll regret it are vanishingly small. Author has full story on FFN but is moving it and others to AO3 one chapter at a time. Bear with me!

She's still got the sword.
It's not that she was nostalgic or anything. Not that she saved it on purpose. She didn't even remember it was there, stored away in the attic, buried among the toy guns and pretty dolls her mother really wanted her to play with. Just two twigs, tied together with a length of twine.
The minute she saw it, the minute she touched it, she knew.
YES. YES YES YES, Pepper would absolutely grow up to be Pepper Potts, and to be this calm and focused and knowing. -

Summary
So beautiful. The most beautiful. No one else more beautiful. It was a lie.
The night he pierces me with his spindle, I fall asleep. The wall of thorns grows up again around me. I sleepwalk through this new life, through all the duties of a good Akhaian wife. I weave, I spin, I press the olives into oil, I submit to my husband, and I sleep through it all. The household around me may as well be frozen in time for all that I interact with it.

You don’t know me. These men who approach the wall of thorns, certain it will be they who penetrate—they do not know me, nor do they care to. What do they know of the inner life of a woman? They see my face, the thousand ships it launched. They call me Beauty. They fight for my skin, not my soul.
I never knew why Leda and Tyndareοs were so eager to hide me from men’s eyes. I couldn’t leave the palace—no girl of royal blood could—but at least Klytemnestra could loiter in the hall when visitors came, men from other lands. She sneered at me as she left, proud of her access, her ambition showing even then. I cared not for status, though I was curious to see what they hid from me, what would happen if I were not hidden.
Oh. Oh, my god. I never ever in a million years would have thought of this mashup, but it is perfect and resonates so beautifully. And it's written in such lovely prose, too!
