Arthur's thrown by Merlin's absolute obedience to his orders. For all of his complaining about Merlin being a terrible servant, Arthur rather liked his cheeky attitude. Merlin's obedience is doing rather a lot for Arthur's libido, but Arthur soon starts to worry there may be something darker at play. Can someone be cursed to lose their will?

snippets from a verse where magic is legal (Uther accepted that Ygraine died of childbirth, not magic shenanigans) and Merlin's a girl. Grew up in Camelot, and given Balinor's status at court, was Morgana's playmate, then became her lady-in-waiting. And due to a really regrettable incident where she saved Arthur's life, is now the prat's bodyguard.
They're not in any particular order and I don't have a coherent plot yet, so... snippets. I'll mark the ones that get a bit more plot-ish.

When the newly crowned King Arthur takes him unknowingly on a journey looking for a young man of whom there are rumors that say he is a very powerful sorcerer (even the Druids think so and the Druids are never wrong) but he was also born with the wings of an angel, Arthur will find more than he bargained for. Like the fact that he has a kink for extremely powerful sorcerers.

Post 5x13 Diamond of the Day Part 2 Alternate Ending. In which Gwaine holds on just long enough, and Morgana doesn’t get to Arthur and Merlin in time to stop them from reaching the Lake of Avalon to save Arthur's life.
The peace that arises following the Battle of Camlann will not last, though, and a new magical threat arises that isn't so happy about the defeat of Morgana- one that will threaten the future of Albion and the peaceful kingdom that Merlin and Arthur have so tirelessly worked to build. -
