Summary
According to the flashbacks from "Father Figure," our group was in England during the bombing of London. Similarly, flashbacks from "Outside the Line" showed us that Nick was involved with the underground during WWII. What would have happened if the Germans had captured Nick and discovered the vampire? What happens when the Enforcers confront LaCroix on this event.

Notes
[Warning: violence.] This chilling interlude of villain-on-villain carnage characterizes Lacroix with thorough canonical resonance — cruel, possessive, territorial, clever — in a third-season context, out of Nick's sight, untethered by the agreement about "mindless killing" invading Nick's life. Lacroix's retaliation is elegantly repulsive. "Drowning" responds to a "worst-case survival scenario" challenge of "how to escape from a sinking car," and the use of Nick's beloved Caddy twists a knife; additionally, a passing mention of Tracy intrigues. This ruthless action drama celebrates the conundrum of Lacroix as Nick's antithesis and ally.

Summary
The characters organize to protest the working conditions in fanfiction.
"Bad day on the fic list? Let me guess — you spent an entire shift making love to Tracy Vetter for no emotionally established reason in no logically explained manner, and you need an aspirin and a shower?"

Amy's hilarious -- and eye-opening -- take on the FK characters' perception of the fiction we write for them. The relationships between the characters are implied, rather than compelled. And, of course, Fleur is a wonder here as the ensemble's darkhorse -- showing off her brainpower and poise; being Nick's sister, but not being solely defined by him.

Summary
Nick shoved Natalie aside and headed for the door; they were not nearly finished and she'd be damned if she'd let him walk away. Nick falls off the wagon, Nat tries to talk to him, but he's well over the edge, out of control and physically harms her. Set after "Night in Question" and covering the time from then to the end of "Sons of Belial."

Nick's self control slips and he lashes out with his strength, rather than his fangs, against the one he cares for most. A riveting take on the dark side of Nick and Natalie's relationship, and how it could be perceived by those not "in the know". It puts to light what I can never eloquently express no matter how many essays, rants and recaps I write: that their codependency is not at all dissimilar from a relationship between a temperamental alcoholic, and his enabling spouse who blames herself for his shortcomings.
