Summary
In a world where people are divided into Fighters and Sacrifices, Sherlock is an Unbonded and Unshed Sacrifice which basically means he still has his feline Ears and Tail although he is already twenty-eight years old. Most people shed their feline appendages before they turn twenty. This trivial fact does not bother him at all until he begins to share a flat with one John Watson, an ex-army Unbonded Adult Fighter whose curiosity about Sherlock's continued virginity irritates and fascinates Sherlock. Are they each other's missing pair? Or are they just two blokes fate put together to get on each other's nerves?

Soubi's like a fairytale, the grim and vicious kind. Kio is relieved when it ends, and Soubi can be part of his ordinary life.
I love the tension set up between the characters who have such different needs and desires -- what Soubi sees as the end of his purpose, Kio sees as potential for a happier story.

Written for the Loveless Anonymous Kink Meme in 2009. The prompt was: "Soubi/Nisei having a recurring affair behind the backs of both their Sacrifices. I'd like to see someone to try to write some smut with these two... I don't really care who tops. Nisei having hidden feelings for Soubi is a plus".
Somehow this spurred me to write 2,000 words of Nisei fic with barely a pause to breathe. Even though he's not a character whom I like; though this is very much NOT a pairing I favour; and though Nisei's feelings are hidden most of all from himself...
