Semi-AU. Korra's been abducted by the Equalists and taken to Amon. Instead of taking her bending or torturing her as she expects, Amon engages her in conversation, once in which she realizes that he doesn't truly believe in the Equalist cause – that all he's suffering has been at the hands of the avatar, and the Equalist cause is only a stepping stone to achieving his goal. He tells her of his life, all he's endured, and she feels moved by sympathy. He intends to make her feel just as he's felt for so long.
