Summary
The story begins after the ending of season 3 and becomes AU after that. The king is still recovering from Morgana's betrayal, the new knights of Camelot are settling in, Arthur is taking up the duties as regent and dark forces gather on the horizon.
Starts out with Arthur/Gwen, but as the series progresses will eventually become Arthur/Merlin. The tags refer to an instant of what could be described as 'mind-rape' but is not graphic.

Summary
After the Battle of Camlann, Merlin escorted Arthur to the Lake of Avalon, only to have him arrive already dead. In a last attempt to save the life of his King, Merlin gathered his magic, casting a spell to save his destiny. The spell did not bring back life but rather the promise of life, and the magic reached out to everyone who was a part of the Once and Future King’s destiny and would bring them back once more to aide Arthur when he should rise again. The spell took everything Merlin had, and in the end, it killed him, and he soon joined his king on Avalon’s shores. A thousand years later, the reincarnations are born again, but things did not turn out as planned. Everyone except Merlin remembers their past lives in Camelot. They must find him and get him to recall the past in order to face the newest threat before time runs out.

Merlin should've laughed. Should've seen that one coming. It was funny, in some twisted way. Funny that the man he was arse over tits for was with his best friend. Funny that he actually thought that man could turn out to be gay. And what made this whole thing uproariously funny was that even if Arthur could be gay, Merlin actually thought he stood a chance.
