Dr Jackson — Have a look at this set of data files, would you? I think it's kid stuff, basically useless. Ought we to bother translating them, or can they be trashed? — Bernice (Technological Acquisitions / Antarctica Site)

Summary
Ahead of them the City loomed with the pale eye of the sun falling behind its half-fallen towers like jagged teeth gummed with ice. Erik had heard legends of it, Babylon the abomination, the home to those who denied the godhead of En Sabah Nur. Sebastian had gone on endlessly about the City and the heretics who had protected it, loving descriptions from the chronicles and his own imagination concerning the destruction visiting upon it and how the Savieri had been made to pay for their blasphemy and had perished along with the humans they sheltered. [Or, the one where dystopia meets vague social allegory meets XMFC.]

"Castiel, this is Detective Winchester," Bobby's saying, voice rough and real. It's a distraction, although a brief one, the angel glancing at him before studying Dean again with that same silent intensity. "He'll be on the Circle Murders too."

Summary
At some point, she had begun keeping a list of reasons she loved him; reasons she loved being with him. She tried not to think too much about why she was keeping such a list. She planned to graduate as early in her fourth year as she could, to take the best posting she could, to see as much of the universe as she could. She made lists because lists helped her in the face of fear: lists of things she would not forget, for fear that instead she might remember everything.

Summary
Sometimes a very nice sentence in one language sounds a lot like a very rude sentence in another, as Esca finds to his chagrin. Yes, it's a linguistics joke drabble. Rating for a single slightly bad word, sigh.

A look at, and break-down of the elvhen language. Excellent content and all kudos to the folks at the Dragon Age Wiki- I don't agree with them on every translation, but they've done a fantastic job, especially Ms. Bellaknotti (who by the way writes amazing Zevran fanfic. <3

Summary
Since several people have indicated curiosity about my Tevene
Arcanumreference, I present it here. It may change as I continue to explore the language, but for now, enjoy! I apologize for the formatting- AO3 eats my word documents every time, even when I use the Word doc posting tool. Apparently it really doesn't like tables. I've simply gone to a .txt format and added html tags. I've split it up into five chapters for ease of viewing and overhauled every single section. Includes my updated translation of Mage's Pride as the sixth chapter. Enjoy!Last bookmarked by LaviniaD

I so want to really study this. It just feels so authentic. I'm having enough trouble with REAL languages as it is, though. XD
