Summary
Rock star Adam Lambert needs a break. Lane once mentioned a volunteer group she worked with in the past, and told him how rewarding it was. Adam remembers that when he's thinking of places to hide and recharge his batteries, so he has Lane sign him up.
Adam wonders if he's gotten more than he'd bargained for - Haiti is hotter than he'd imagined (his make-up melts off his face) and he'd take a shower twice a day if his tent (or the camp it was in) had running water, but then Adam meets the man in charge of the group of volunteers he's a part of.
Kris is no stranger to helping others, he's been on several mission trips since starting college. This time though Kris needed to get away so he could think: it's time to decide whether he wants to keep on playing music in bars and producing his own records that sell 10 copies, or if he wants to get married and settle down.
Kris thinks there's only one path to follow: the same path his father took. He'd given his music a chance, now it was time to be an adult and grow up. But then Adam Lambert shows up in his little group of volunteers, and shows Kris that there's another path. Will Kris be brave enough to walk the path that leads to happiness in Adam's arms?

‘’Didn’t want him spending the last night stuck in a hotel room with a sulking 30 year old when he should be out enjoying himself’’ Adam muttered out and Sauli smiled softly as he thought about the pout which would be on his boyfriends face right now.
‘’He wouldn’t care Adam’’ Sauli told him and Adam groaned in to the pillow.

Now I was twenty seven, touring the world and living my dream, the last thing I had expected to be doing was to be sat shaking my hands tight around the neck of my guitar which I was just on the way to putting away as I tried to calm my breath in the doorway of the dressing room which I shared with Isaac.
‘’Dude, are you okay?’’ Isaac’s voice sounded far away as the last shake and rattle went away.
‘’Yeah’’ I called back to him, my voice surprisingly calm as my heart crashed.
‘’Fuck’’ He laughed, ‘’I’m so glad that didn’t happen while we were on stage.’’ Nodding to him, I swallowed a little before I pressed my head back against the frame and took a few deep breaths, hearing footsteps coming down the hall, I stood and walked over to my bags which were on the other side of the room, placing my guitar on the stand again, I moved closer to them. -

For another thirty minutes, Adam held on tightly to Tommy as he let himself break down and cry in Adam’s arms until he fell asleep, puffy eyed and exhausted, still Adam laid there, stroking his fingers over Tommy’s chest soothingly as he listened to his breathing, soft under the sleep he pulled himself in to, it was only then when he knew that Tommy was really asleep that he let himself fall asleep.
