In this version of events, the Senior Partners unleashed the apocalypse before Angel had a chance to assassinate the Order of the Black Thorn. To prevent the destruction of LA, Wesley threw himself into a demon dimension and Angel went after him. After weeks of anxiety and spellcasting, the remnants of Angel Investigations and the visiting Scoobies attempt to bring them back.

A soul-eating demon is creating mass-murderers all over LA and the new Angel Investigations is struggling to find a solution. Can they stop the creature without losing their own souls?

NB This version of the fic is as originally posted on my livejournal (although not originally written) without the actual rape scene (although the rape still takes place within the narrative). I wrote the scene, then decided it was redundant, and pulled it, and now so much time has passed that I can't decide if it is scaffolding and doesn't need to be in the story or is actually needed, so I'm leaving it up to you, Dear Reader, to decide which version works best for you.- Words:

The second extension Spike got was the Embalming Section – he hadn’t even known they had one of those – but, at last, on the third attempt, he was through to Harmony. Never in his life had he been so pleased to hear her voice.
“Harm, you have to help me,” he gabbled. “Don’t ask questions, just do what I say and do it now. This is very important.”
“Yes, Spike.” She sounded as breathless as a creature that needed to exhale and he was glad to hear she had realized the importance of the situation.
“I need candy, I need chocolate, I need fizzy drinks, I need colouring books, and I need crayons….”
After an accident with an amulet, Spike ends up having to take care of a four year old Fred, Gunn, and Wesley. Lots of people die.

Now responsible for an eight year-old Wesley, six year-old Cordelia, and four year-old Gunn, Angel seeks the assistance of Buffy, Giles, and the Scoobies in Sunnydale. WARNINGS: Violence, bad language, slashy references, gratuitous Wesley-whumping, the inevitable concussion for Giles, and small children wearing Winnie the Pooh pyjamas. One is easy, the second follows the first, but the third...The third may become the love of his life...if they don't kill each other first...or again in the returnee's case. My take on what happened after Not Fade Away.
