Summary
Kevin knows, he really does, that it's dangerous to take anything from Frankie. Don't drink juice Frankie hands you-- obvious. Don't eat food Frankie makes for you-- a well known Jonas fact. Don't sleep in your bed if Frankie has been in your room alone-- of course not. But in his defense, he was really, really sleepy when Frankie handed him the boomerang at breakfast. Frankie was just holding it, and was like, "Here, Kevin, take this totally innocuous boomerang which is totally new Jonas merch or something," and Kevin, well, Kevin took it, because he was tired, and that.
That is why he is currently standing in what might be Australia, surrounded by mostly naked men holding spears.

There are grooves in Kevin’s fingers from where he’s gripping his bass, soft, but calloused underbellies digging into the strings. It’s enough pain to ground him; he releases the strings backwards, the positioning a direct reverse of the beginning of In Front And Heavy. This is it. There’s no going back, even if one of the kids singing along in twenty minutes recognizes the curve of Miranda’s mouth, the timbre of Brendon’s voice, the strawberry blonde curl of Patrick’s hair under his knit cap; Bill’s splayed, spidery legs, Kevin’s wrists, fingers – the white band of skin that isn’t hidden by a thin band of silver.
We are your losers, your loud weirdoes, your science stars, your shy, retiring band geeks, Kevin thinks, and sets off for the stage.

Summary
When Kevin Jonas and his brothers on the Lovebug encounter a mechanical problem, they aren’t expecting an injured stowaway to be responsible. The last few years have been tough on Card, and he wasn’t expecting to find anyone who’d take a chance for a scarred nobody who won’t even tell them his real name. Escaping was only one step, though, and Card can’t keep running forever. Eventually he’s going to have to stop and face his issues and his past. He can only hope he’ll have someone to stand with him.
