Summary
Karkat is a troll, a mutant to be exact. Before the war, there was a use for mutants like him. But now that the war with the humans are long over, mutants have once again become a liability to the Queen. So he is thrown across the Border which connects between the two countries (Prospit and Derse). It is dangerous since humans and trolls alike still feel anger and hatred towards one another. Karkat can only hope that no human finds him, but of course with his luck, he gets the most annoying human of them all and worse of all he may develop feelings for this idiotic human!

Year 2078, United States of America. The U.S. was the leading country in space exploration and research. Hundreds of planets, inside and outside the solar system had been discovered, explored, and even a few had been colonized. The bursting population of Earth demanded outward expansion, and people were encouraged to embrace space travel from a young age.
It had, over the past 15 or so years, become somewhat common in the United States for young people to go off-planet in the summer between their sophomore and junior years of high school. Space Exploration And Research Educational Deployment, or SEARED, was a government run program, facilitating travel, accommodation, and safety for the young astronauts.
The 8 kids from homestuck attend high school together, not all of them friends, some complete strangers to one another. They eventually end up coming together to travel to Alternia through the SEARED program.

Involves over six separate duels (including two for quadrants), many scenes of violence, episode of traumatic flashbacks, multiple scenarios involving mind control, sexual encounters (both consensual and not), the destruction of no less than five fine seagoing vessels, blatant hemocaste desecration, even more blatant hemodiscrimination, two cases of mild quadrant vacillitation, one instance of quadrant fuckupery, and an inordinate amount of swearing. May not be appropriate for grubs and young trolls.

Summary
Karkat is a little quicker on his feet during the confrontation with Eridan. As a result, he becomes a rainbow-drinker instead of Kanaya and things quickly spiral out of control from there. The result is an explosion of AU shenanigans involving Karkat taking several levels in badass, Rose giving Eridan an impromptu psychoanalysis session, and a number of sloppy, sloppy makeouts. Not to mention angst, hurt/comfort and the consequences of Murderstuck.

Kanaya just wants to get through life. But her roommate, Rose Lalonde, has problems including but not limited to: people trying to kill her, people trying to figure her out (*cough* Kanaya *cough*), and a certain amount of guilt that she may or may not have brought upon herself. Shenanigans ensue and nobody completely understands what's happening.
The main relationships in this fic are pale, because moirallegiance needs less fluff and more long, convoluted plots. Some other relationships are mentioned (friendships and stuff), but they aren't the point here. Go somewhere else if you want sloppy troll/human makeouts.
