While Kaidan's trying to figure out what they are, Shepard's on another page. Sleepovers, treehouses and paintball. Pretty direct sequel to KAIDAN ALWAYS! Awkward teenagers making out. Shepard was wearing the first t-shirt Kaidan had ever seen him in, a James Bond thing, 007, and Kaidan decided he was going to ask him out.

A longer high school AU, in which Kaidan and Shepard bumble around a lot. Conceived with Stonelions on tumblr! Kaidan always figured Shepard would be into classic rock, highway to hell type stuff. The sort of music people listened to on motorcycles or in the actual tape deck of a souped-up old muscle car.

“You love me,” Shepard said. Conversationally, like he was discussing the weather or where to find the best food on the Citadel.
Kaidan swallowed wrong, whiskey flooding his nose. He coughed and sputtered, setting his glass down and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. His eyes watered and his nose ran, and he excused himself to clean up.
“I never, ah… I never said I loved you, just…” Kaidan sighed and brushed off his uniform with a napkin, distracting himself from looking into Shepard’s eyes. “I just, well… Look, Commander, I’m not exactly the most experienced at this stuff, you know? I just know I think about you, and when I see you I get this feeling in my stomach that… That if I don’t get you, if I don’t have you, I’m just going crazy.”

Three hours, two sudden downpours, and one missed bus after Shepard set out, he conceded to himself that he was well and truly lost. Although, admittedly, Garrus’s directions could have been better.

Actually based on the merc!Shepard and Spectre!Alenko prompt on the kinkmeme. Earthborn Shepard never makes it into the Alliance. Merc life suits him just fine, as does teaming up with C-Sec officer Garrus Vakarian every now and then. And then he meets Lieutenant Kaidan Alenko, poster boy for doing things by the books. It’d been a long day, but at least Garrus was buying.
