“This conversation is gonna get masturbatory if we keep going down that path, but—but you get it. And I get it. And what I’m trying to say is that we’re the same damn person. Metaphorically.”
Tony and Bruce have more in common than they care to admit.

A week after John arrived, Scott dropped a hand onto his shoulder to ask him something. John reacted so quickly the whole thing looked like a blur of motion and a flare of flame. Scott had to be treated for burns and all Bobby really remembered was the blur and the fire and the look on John's face when he stilled. He looked like a dog at the shelter Bobby spent half a summer volunteering at - ready to bite the hand that fed him before it had a chance to hit him. Animal-wary and wounded beneath it.
Bobby didn't think John had ever tried to be the biggest and baddest. He'd just tried to be dangerous enough to survive, and there wasn't going to be much more dangerous than living fire, anywhere but here.
And that, boys and girls, is John in a nutshell.
This fic is a marvelous exploration of Bobby's relationship with John from start to (kind of) finish, and it's heartbreaking to watch it all fall apart and Bobby's efforts to make sense of it all.

Amazing, realistic dialogue! Scott and Logan bonding! Bar fight! SCOTT IN A BAR FIGHT. Hints of John/Bobby. Rogue being a badass! I love this so fucking much it hurts. I lovelovelove that Scott isn't demonized or turned into a prissy, whining douchebag, but also kept very true to his character. I also love that this is very distinctly Movie!Logan, not Comic!Logan with movie influences. I love how incredibly real it all is and how very authentic the characters sound, absolutely true to their roots but given fresh takes that make them that much more interesting.

I've always loved explorations of the ramifications of Rogue absorbing part of John during the showdown in X2. I especially love this explanation of Bobby's frustration that Rogue has a piece of John that he could never have, and now he's going to lose them both.

Wonderful Bobby-centric piece of introspection. Awesome look at Rogue's darker side, never really fully expressed but there anyway, lurking.

Long, multi-chapter Bobby/John fic, set after X3. Amazingly spot-on characterizations, interesting plot. One of my favorites. Bri also happens to be a super fun person.

Summary
While auditioning for Pete Wentz, Ryan and Brendon’s abilities trigger. Lucky for them, Pete happens to know of a school that can help them learn control. The situation doesn’t get much better when the four arrive at Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters. Ryan Ross and St. John Allerdyce both have the same problem; their best friend is in love with some stupid girl, instead of them. Just when they’ve found their own solution, the United States military attacks the school. When Magneto offers to take them away, of course they accept.
Meanwhile, the Mutant Registration Act is gaining favour in the United States. Pete shows his opinion by attempting to sign a mutcore band to his label, to Joe’s approval, ignoring the difficulties Andy notes. My Chemical Romance takes a more visible stance, including but not limited to Frank outing himself and Gerard making scenes. Post Midtown ex-activist Gabe Saporta is looking for a new purpose in life, and ends up exactly where he was before. And Singer has to deal with the aftereffects of the mutant-outing headache that swept the world.
With so much hate in the air, sometimes there’s no choice left but to reinvent love.

Guh, this is perfect. A sort of AU about John and Bobby's relationship. A what happens if John got shot by the same cops that shot Logan sorta deal in X2.
I really wish there was a continuation of this; this kind of Bobby could have potentially gone to the Brotherhood with John, there is meaty potential here for a whole 'verse. I love it.

Summary
He figured he would have learned that when he was drunk, he should stay far, far away from anyone who wasn’t Bobby. Actually, Bobby, too. He should just stay the hell away from anyone who’d remember things in the morning and be able to hold them against him. But apparently, just like in a whole mess of other things, John hadn’t learned his lesson.
