Dean is a regular boy-next-door type of guy. That is, until the night he is possessed, hit in the head, exorcised, and carried into the safety on an old Impala by a hunter named Castiel. After learning of the existence of supernatural creatures, much to Dean's dismay, he is unable to get away from Castiel. Even if he could, his boyfriend and long-time best friend, Sam, is suddenly fascinated by this brand new world Cas has introduced them to. That is how they end up in the middle of a vampire hunt with Castiel, unprepared and unarmed.
Soon Dean realizes that this is only the beginning of the end of his calm, normal apple-pie life.

Metatron's changing the rules. As the boys cope in the aftermath of heaven's fall, an all-out apocalyptic war between angels and demons looms in the distance. Sam wants to fight, but Dean just wants it to end...even if it ends bloody. More than that, he's more focused on caring for Sam, protecting Kevin, and questioning everything he ever thought he knew about himself after Cas reappears one night, unconscious and fallen.
