Bertie Wooster gets the idea to keep a diary of unsent letters addressed to Jeeves as a way to let out his feelings. You see, he's been feeling the more tender emotions for his valet for many months now, and needed a way to release everything he's kept bottled up inside. He never intended for Jeeves to read them, but accidents happen...

Bertie is of the opinion that he's read quite enough detective novels to write an excellent one himself. Jeeves' opinion is inscrutable.

'“Good evening, Mr Wallace.” Came Jeeves’ cordial and very correct reply. I rather expected that to be the end of it, and I was hoping it too. I didn’t fancy appearing from a tree with Wallace hanging about. It engenders too many questions. “What were you doing up that tree?” being one of them.'

For once it is Bertie who is in the know when it comes to a delicate tidbit of personal information. Now he perfectly understands the phrase 'ignorance is bliss'...

I don’t know if you have ever had your torso scraped with a butter knife by your valet. There is not much in the experience to recommend it. Particularly when you suspect said valet is not entirely happy with you, and so wields the implement with more vim than strictly necessarily.

Or, the tale of how Bertie and Jeeves finally Confessed All to each other, despite – or, possibly, because of – the passion-dampening affects of Giant Squirts, thwarted wrestling, unhappy boating, rabbits (both of the Luminous and Dream varieties), an aunt who breakfasts on the ground bones of nephews who displease her, and a pair of very natty yellow socks.

"Most important undertaking of my life the children were. I didn't want to bungle them up. I knew Jeeves would be up to the task."

Inspired by slothier's cracktastic manip/ficlet "The Right Honorable Countess Holmes...." (take a look at it first) as well as a comment by Giant Prat of Sumatra in which they pointed out that Stephen Fry played both Jeeves as well as Mycroft. Not BBC!Sherlock's Mycroft of course, but it still gave me some interesting ideas...

When Ginger Winship sends an urgent summons to his home in Edinburgh, none is more surprised than Bertie Wooster, not least because the last time he heard, Ginger resided in Glasgow. Ever one to rally 'round his friends in a time of need, Bertie none the less sets off. What follows is a right old soupy mess of weddings, bespoke tailoring, Scottish poetry, jealousy, bridge and the psychology of the individual.

A stand-alone sequel to Ginger and the Rum Confession.
