When people looked at him they saw the mad scientist, the friendless geek who would sacrifice the universe to serve his own ego. But that's okay. There are procedures now to fix that. Modern medicine will make him better whether he wants it or not.

Summary
Rodney mutters darkly to himself as he huffs and puffs and pushes futily at the snow that's accumulated on Jeannie's driveway. He hates snow and the atrocious neighbors!
Those bastards; who'd thoughtfully plowed their own walks right up to their property boundary and no further, when they knew that Jeannie was bigger than a balloon and had no husband coming to do it, and Rodney had a bad back damn it! And their brat kids had turned up their noses when he'd offered to pay them to do it. Even when he'd sweetened the deal to $5 a piece, instead of collectively.

Summary
This is regency AU. Headstrong Rodney McKay is determined to rescue Pegasus Hall, his ancestral home, and his family from the estate's new owner, the rakish John Sheppard, who had won Pegasus Hall in a card game.
Disclaimer: This is based on the book Taming Rafe by Suzanne Enoch. The initial chapters take heavily from the book.

I would also point out that this story is not going to be finished. I took it down from my LJ primarily because people were demanding it be finished, but I have recently been asked by people for copies of it so thought it simply easier to post it here. Also please note, I wrote this story some considerable time ago and I haven't read it in years. Nor have I gone back and amended any of it, so it is how it was when first posted on LJ and it may well be that there are grammatical errors.
