Summary

A successful young writer returns to the city of her birth to find herself a pawn in this same power struggle and the singers at the club are caught not knowing who to trust. Mob men, politicians, and the Bureau of Prohibition are all closing in, can they save the club?

1930s AU. The first time Brendon met Spencer Smith, he picked his pocket.
This fic was the brain child of sadiane and zabira, who came up with the concept of a Great Depression AU where Spencer and Brendon are grifters (thieves/con men). S would randomly email me with things like “sleeping in barns!” and “Card games!” and “wearing suits!” and in the end I gave in and started writing it.
