In a strange turn of events Tony Stark finds himself aboard a pirate ship. Rather than being terrified like any sane person would be he finds himself rather infatuated with the captain. Pirate AU based off of RP with a friend. This is my first fic for this fandom so go easy on me.

No, it was not for their cruelty or for their blunder. These were no ordinary rats of the sea. Whisper the Avengers and any cake eater will weep and cringe. Lead by their fearless captain the crew would steal from the rich and give to the poor. A merry band of robin hoods upon the hallowed seas. Is there a better way to be known and feared? Phil still can’t believe the team considers him to be an Avenger, Clint wants to pretend that last mission just flat didn’t happen, Steve’s as happy as he's ever been in his life, Thor’s excited that his fiancé will be moving in soon, Natasha is still standing, Rhodey’s ready to catch her if she falls, Tony’s still ambushing Steve and Bruce whenever he can, and Bruce is his usual unflappable self as long as he makes sure not to be in the same room with either of his lovers when they change clothes.
Then a guy walks into the tower making claims that should be impossible, shaking Steve to the core and causing some revelations to be made.

Of course Tony would be the type of angel to get himself exiled from Heaven, that's a no brainer. He breaks the rules and abandons his duties and doesn't care. Except exile is painful and he's actually innocent of the crime they've accused him of. Well at least the people in Purgatory are nice. Even if some of them are demons.
AU where Heaven is a city run by angels with two militant groups. One is the SWORD of heaven, led by the first angel Johann, and keeps the demons out of Heaven. The second is SHIELD which keeps the home front safe and is led by Steven. Tony just happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
