Snapshots from the newsie's experiences at summer camp. Some of these most likely will be over 100 and might not be about camp specifically but will be about campy things because camp gives me a warm feeling.

    Summary

Jack is uneasy about leaving. Katherine is in reporter mode and completely unhelpful. Set immediately after the musical. One Shot that wouldn't be ignored after seeing it in the theaters...for now, at least.

“Romeo, what’s going on? Where’s Jack?” Katherine asked.
“Well, uh, you see Katherine, we hasn’t seen him around lately. We thought he was probably on his way to see you but it’s, uh, been a while and-”
    “How long?” she interrupted.
“About since you left. A few weeks ago.”

In which Jack goes missing and Katherine has to decide how – and if – she should find him.

    Summary

One day, I got to wondering how alpha/omega/beta dynamics would influence history and society. Somewhere along the way, I ended up with this. It's basically the plot of the musical, but with dynamics and a slightly different New York, as well as some of the newsies from the movie.

"I'll get the knife!" Drabbles in which canon Newsies movie and stage dialogue is used by the wrong character in the wrong situation. Rated T for some slashy innuendo. Give suggestions of quotes to use for future chapters in your review :)

    Summary

It was a long walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and down to the docks where Spot and his crew hung out most days. Along the way, David thought about everything he’d heard from the other newsies about Spot Conlon. He was supposed to be terrifying and powerful, but a good guy if you got to know him.

    Summary

Katherine looked at the two of them. She smiled and said, “I knew it.”
A puzzled and mildly terrified look passed between Jack and David. “You knew?” David finally asked.
“I had my suspicions, yeah.” Katherine grinned. “A reporter always has her suspicions.”

    Summary

“Jack,” he heard her whisper, and for a moment, he ignored her. But Katherine continued in a low voice, “We… had something. You and I. Not so very long ago. What happened to that?”
Jack felt his eyes burn, and he shook his head as he insisted, “Nothing happened to it, Ace. Nothing could ever come of it. You’re you, and I’m me, and -”
“I think I’ve shown more than once that I don’t care a lick about who I’m supposed to be,” Katherine said, sounding so angry that Jack turned his eyes to her.

    *************

A few months after the strike is resolved, Katherine's working at the World (at her father's insistence) as a journalist. Jack's taken the offer to do illustrative work for the paper and is earning enough to rent a room of his own (and pay for Crutchie's, too). But the fever of the strike faded, and with it the fever of what had flared between Jack and Katherine. With everyone settled in to the new normal, what happens between the Face of the Strike and the Daughter of the Tycoon? Jack/Katherine. COMPLETE.

    Summary

She loved reading for her children and with them. Patient and proud, as they learned their letters and how words came together to create stories. Laughing, as Jack and Davey read performed for the applause of Katherine and little Lucy. But this time alone with Jack was precious in a different way. Curled together in the armchair, as close as they could be. When Katherine read, Jack (rarely one to sit with anything resembling stillness) would gently run his fingers through her hair.
