With nothing left to lose, Irina decides to tell the truth. (This story uses Faith Hill’s 2003 song, “Cry” and the snippets breaking chapters are from that song.) Note: this story is from the January 2003 Cover Me challenge (rules at the end of the story), but this version has a different ending than the challenge version on that site as of 2/20/03.I like this version better, personally. The challenge rules indicated that their had to be a plane crash, an addiction and the words, “The trick is to keep breathing.”
