The news of the cancer has made Louis bitter and cranky, and he whines a lot more now and doesn't seem to appreciate anything that anybody does for him anymore. He's practically given up, when suddenly the cancer is gone and he's fine again.
Of course, life likes to turn around and kick you in the teeth, though, doesn't it?
