A/N: This is an AU that takes place in the universe of the novel The Road, by Cormac McCarthy. It doesn’t take any of the plot points, so if you haven’t seen it, you shouldn’t have any problem. Simply know that there has been a cataclysm, and that everything is dead, except a few humans.
