He doesn’t think Zeus is supposed to have a sword, but their Zeus does. So now Jonny does, because of course he’s in charge. He looks, Patrick is drunk enough to acknowledge, far better than anyone has a right to in a grody old Halloween costume that’s probably soaked up the butt sweat of dozens, if not hundreds, of Theta-presidents past. Jonny wears it, Patrick gets the sword. Win-win.

Summary
Jeff Skinner's first year in the NHL is like a fairy tale, fantastic and extraordinary, even if it is drenched in sweat and the runoff from melted ice packs. If he has an innocent crush on his captain, it's only to be expected, and by the time his sophomore year rolls around Jeff has worked through it and into a comfortable friendship. It gets slightly more complicated when Eric's brother gets called up, and Jeff realizes that it's not his captain he's been seeing when he closes his eyes at night.
Jared spends the first few years of his professional career bouncing up and down from the minors. At 21 and without a solid roster slot, he's the late bloomer in a family of NHL stars, but he knows that it's only a matter of time. He doesn't mean to sleep with Jeff (vodka is funny that way), but he knows a one-night-stand when he wakes up wrapped around one. Right up until it stops being one.
