I LOVE THIS FIC, I STAN THIS FIC (and this ship, forever this ship, forever Margaret especially, but forever Margaret/Suffolk), I use this fic to justify my predilection for history-based theatrical!AU, and thing is, once I've directed people to this fic, they understand why. So many of my favorite things in one place, here.

  4. Rec 3

    Notes

A spare, thoughtful piece about John Talbot (as far as I'm aware, the only Talbot-fic on the entire Internet!), also featuring the most adorable Henry VI ever.

  5. Rec 3

    Summary

Jack Cade's wife narrates how an unlikely soldier joined the rebels' party. "I did not think it sensible to turn to one young Richard son of Plantagenet and say, 'Excuse me, what the bleeding fuck are you doing here and have you brought guns to kill us all?'"

    1 Jan 2010

    Notes

This fic has a fantastic narrative voice, told from the point of view of an original character, and illustrates the disturbing scenario of Richard of Gloucester joining the rebels led by Jack Cade in 2 Henry VI. Cade's charisma and Richard's sociopathic tendencies are chillingly rendered in a voice that also manages to be incredibly funny.
