Summary
John Watson comes from a long line of Omega activists and political prisoners. Sherlock Holmes is the son and grandson of Alpha autocrats. The bonds of family will be put to the test, Mycroft finds an ally in the most unlikely of places within his own family, the two together will be a force to reckon with, especially when what's theirs is in danger.

John Harrison sat on his new bed, in his new flat, in the middle of the same old London that was no longer quite so old. A glossy computer terminal sat on the desk in the corner, and his Fleet-issued communicator was next to the digital alarm clock on his bedside table. He stared at them for a long minute. He'd been in this century barely ten weeks, and he'd adjusted well, but in the quiet moments the pace of modern humanity threatened to overwhelm him.
He was crushingly lonely.
Except he wasn't truly alone, was he? Paul was downstairs in the kitchen, making tea and heating up dinner for the both of them.

The Irish Whiskey is less smokey than the usual scotch whiskies. I was taught that, that was because they used unmalted barley, oats, and rye in their blend and kilned over coal as opposed to peat. I prefered a regular Scotch on the rocks, but John was home and it didn't taste so good in coffee.
