Summary
They watch the omegas in their class miss a week at a time for their heats, or turn up pregnant, or drop out entirely, and see even the nicest, brightest boys and girls get rude and dumb and aggressive after presenting as alphas. Privately, they wonder what the rush is about.
John and Sherlock are eighteen years old and still haven't presented as alpha or omega, though they're both sure they know how their cards have been dealt. That is their first mistake.

Summary
John looked up, face calm again but with wounded eyes. “It’s not the way I would have wanted you to meet, but … come in. Father, this is my flatmate and best friend, Sherlock Holmes, and my good friend Detective Inspector Greg Lestrade. Sherlock, Greg—this is my father, Jonathan Brandon.” He paused to swallow. “Earl of Undershaw.”

Summary
DI Lestrade said Sherlock Holmes was a great man, and one day, if they were very lucky, he might be a good one. John Watson is many things, but lucky isn't one of them.
This is the story of how the impossible happens.

Summary
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a partner.
Less universally acknowledged is that a single man in possession of very little in the way of fortune may be in want of a partner as well, but John Watson had little time or energy to devote to his own wants or needs...Enter one Mr Holmes...
Please note that I gleefully take great liberties with the laws governing same sex relationships and how they are seen in the Regency Era. As in, it is not an issue at all in this story. At all.

Summary
Sherlock had acquaintances who had overdosed- he'd even overdosed himself, once- but he'd never visited them and if he had he'd have been visiting a corpse. Harry, though, was breathing. She'd been vital and loud, if infuriating, but now she had overdosed but she wasn't dead, she was... well, drooling on her shoulder, at the moment. Insanely, he kept expecting the madwoman to straighten up and wipe it away. Some small voice in his head, one that had been quiet for a long time now, said 'this could have been you.' And, as it had always been, it was right.
