An unknown magic-user in disguise is stirring up the people with his daring rescue bids – at great personal risk he is bringing people on dragonback out of Camelot to safety in Caerleon. Rumour has it that he leaves a calling card with a picture of a flower emblazoned upon it at the site of each rescue. The common people have started to call him “The Amber Rose”.
Inspired by The Scarlet Pimpernel, by Baroness Orczy. The Pimpernel of course is the original, much imitated, hero in disguise; inspiration for Zorro, for Batman, and the immortal Hong Kong Phooey (number one super guy!).
The divergence from canon is blatant; characters and situations from several series are all mixed up to suit my purposes. Sorry if this jars.

Arthur Pendragon, son of the famous and wealthy Uther, finds himself in the wilds of Donegal due to an awkward professor and a lot of goofing off in university. Stuck in the backend of nowhere, (as he calls it) Arthur finds himself looking at life in a different way. Especially when it wears rubber and looks like Merlin. A tale of friendship, a possibly sentient car, cake, and cock-blocking donkeys. (Actually only one donkey) (And a scout troop) (And a microwave). With a bit of angst and some trauma.

Summary
Merlin should've laughed. Should've seen that one coming. It was funny, in some twisted way. Funny that the man he was arse over tits for was with his best friend. Funny that he actually thought that man could turn out to be gay. And what made this whole thing uproariously funny was that even if Arthur could be gay, Merlin actually thought he stood a chance.

The band fishes around for money-raising ideas. Enter lanky, flugel-playing Irishman Merlin Emrys, and spoilt, classically-trained trumpeter Arthur Pendragon. It's hate (i.e. lust) at first sight.
Or: The cast of Merlin meets Brassed off meets Calendar Girls meets the Full Monty in a glorious Yorkshire homage. With Yorkshire beer! A musical director who calls everyone "Love"! Now, after that tour, damaged and a little bit broken, Arthur seeks the person that dropped a battered writing book upon his foot and the person who picked up Arthurs own.
