Arthur Pendragon, son of the famous and wealthy Uther, finds himself in the wilds of Donegal due to an awkward professor and a lot of goofing off in university. Stuck in the backend of nowhere, (as he calls it) Arthur finds himself looking at life in a different way. Especially when it wears rubber and looks like Merlin. A tale of friendship, a possibly sentient car, cake, and cock-blocking donkeys. (Actually only one donkey) (And a scout troop) (And a microwave). With a bit of angst and some trauma.

After getting accepted into Cambridge university, Merlin is prepared for an entirely different life than the one he's used to in Ealdor. He is not prepared to be sharing a tutor with the arrogant, prattish (and slightly wonderful) Prince Arthur.

An unknown magic-user in disguise is stirring up the people with his daring rescue bids – at great personal risk he is bringing people on dragonback out of Camelot to safety in Caerleon. Rumour has it that he leaves a calling card with a picture of a flower emblazoned upon it at the site of each rescue. The common people have started to call him “The Amber Rose”.
Inspired by The Scarlet Pimpernel, by Baroness Orczy. The Pimpernel of course is the original, much imitated, hero in disguise; inspiration for Zorro, for Batman, and the immortal Hong Kong Phooey (number one super guy!).
The divergence from canon is blatant; characters and situations from several series are all mixed up to suit my purposes. Sorry if this jars.

Merlin Emrys, the wonder that he is has had some trouble in his past when it comes down to relationships. In their way of discovering what it all means to them they deal with their own insecurities, baggage from prior relationships, homophobic father's in denial, magic, kidnapping, trauma, curses, and so much more. And if they happen to endure, to survive it all, together, they are only made the stronger for it.

The thought they would fall in love with each other hasn't occurred to either of them. However, when Gwen's marriage seems to be crumbling and Arthur's comforting her, love takes over!
