Summary
There are three outcomes that Duncan can see in this.
One, he refuses, and they kill him, by blade or by arrow.
Two, he drinks the blood, and it kills him, wracking his body from the inside out.
Or three, he drinks it, and he lives, forever changed and not quite human.
He looks at the woman standing before him, blade perched languidly on her hip, staring him down with uncaring eyes, and drinks.- Words:

Summary
Written for the Dragon Age Big Band: Round Two. Art by epsifawnshawn.
The world is at war. The Circles have declared their independence, the Templars have rebelled from the Chantry and Orlais- the most powerful nation in Thedas- is teetering on the brink of civil war. The interrogation of Varric Tethras has proved interesting, but with no concrete leads on the location of Marian Hawke, Cassandra Penteghast and Leliana agree to part ways- Cassandra will seek out Marian, and Leliana will pursue Solona Amell, Hero of Ferelden.
Her journey takes her back to where it all began, back to Ferelden, and rumours of a dark sorceress in the mountains preying on travellers lead her deep into the Frostbacks. There she finds not Solona, but her younger cousin Bethany, a woman from Leliana's past. Bethany has been a Grey Warden for the better part of a decade, and the brutal work has dimmed the light in the sunny young girl she once knew.
They stand on opposite sides of a conflict engulfing the world, both determined to see their faction led to victory. But a heart is a fragile thing, and sometimes it will not listen to reason- even when the fate of all is at stake.

Summary
In a tavern outside of a nameless city, three adventurers take a break from the rigors of their expedition. It is here where Varric Tethras spins a new story, the tale of a woman he's never met, but knows very well. The dwarven businessman with his trusty named crossbow at his side, delights in telling the tale of Marinelle Brosca, famed Warden-Commander and Hero of Ferelden.
He's never actually met the Paragon, but that won't stop Varric from getting the story right, or at least, keeping the audience entranced. After all, he's heard plenty about her from the best inside source anyone could have on the Warden, her long-time love, King Alistair of Ferelden. Teamed up with the beautiful Isabela, famed Pirate Queen of the Eastern Seas (and her brand new big boat), the three of them are making their way on a journey at Alistair's behest, and on his coin. What they seek lies at the end of a path that Marinelle Brosca set her lover on with a gift years before, and has inadvertently been pushing him toward.

Summary
The prelude to a forthcoming tale about the characters Kristoff and Aura from Dragon Age: Awakening. Theirs is obviously a tragic and beautiful love, cut horribly short by Kristoff's death at the hands of the darkspawn in the Blackmarsh, but what of the story that comes before? How did they meet? How did they fall in love? And how did an Orlesian Warden with a Fereldan accent come to know the criminal underworld of Amaranthine so well? How does an Orlesian woman come to own a house in Amaranthine, when her husband is stationed in Orlais?
The inconsistencies in their story deserved to be resolved, and in attempting to do so, the story became so much larger than I had anticipated. This is a prequel of sorts, the story of both their families as the tale wends towards their first meeting, the moment when love is kindled for the first time between two unlikely souls. Our story begins over thirty years before the two of them even meet for the first time, and twenty years before either of them are even born.
To be followed by Kristoff and Aura's tale, A Love Extraordinary.
